On 2nd Decem 2008, We successfully organized a half day seminar on "Overview of Proficiency Testing". There are more than 60 persons from universities, research institute and food manufacturers attended this seminar at Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

We were pleased to invite Mr. Tish Shukla from Central Science Laboratory, UK as our speaker. He talked about Theory, Application and Implementation of Proficiency Testing including:

FAPAS® - Chemical food analysis
FEPAS® - Food Microbiology
LEAP – Environment/Potable water analysis
GeMMA – GMO analysis

Proficiency Testing is an independent assessment of the performance of all aspects of the laboratory, both human & hardaware. Proficiency testing is recognised as an important aspect of laboratory quality assurance. Proficiency testing is relevant to all laboratories testing for quality & safety. Hence, it is a requirement of accreditation to ISO 17025 that the laboratory takes part in a proficiency testing scheme.
